Matlin Residence
Albion, CA
This house sit on the top of the hill just east of greater downtown Albion and is a unique house in many ways.  The owner had several 3"-4" thick redwood slabs 3-5' wide of varying lengths.  These slabs were used as the exterior walls instead of studs.  The green house on the south side serves as a collector of heat which is distributed throughout the house via under floor ducts.  The interior roof trusses are a combination of redwood beams and steel rods.  Built in the mid 80's.
